    I’m not sure what book I need to buy

    Check the ISBN number. It will be a 13 digit number beginning with 978. On the item page in our store, that be found on the right side. That will identify the correct book better than anything else. If you don’t have one, check with your instructor or check the course syllabus.

    What is an ISBN Number? Where can I find it?

    An ISBN Number is 13-digit number which typically begins with 978 or 979. It is used as the best method for identifying a book. When working with you regarding one of our items, we often ask for an ISBN number because many of our items have similar titles and we want to be sure we’re getting you the information for the correct item. The ISBN number is most often located near the barcode or on the inside cover of a book

    I’m purchasing a book for a course, and I don’t have an ISBN number. How can I be sure I’m purchasing the right book?

    The title of the book can be a good way to tell but isn’t always reliable. The book’s edition number and author also can be good to check. The best way to ensure you’re purchasing the correct item is to check with your instructor and ask for an ISBN number. If you get in touch with our support team we can offer suggestions for what we think it is based on the information you provide. However, without an ISBN number we aren’t able to ask you to purchase something that might not be right.

    The store page has a print version and an eBook version, but the ISBN my instructor gave only matches one of the versions. Is the other still okay to buy?

    Yes. Different versions of an item need to have different ISBN numbers but typically the only difference is the format. The content will be the same.

    What is the difference between the formats for the same title?

    Our titles often come in printed and digital format (eBook) so please make sure you select the correct item in the format that works best for you. Printed books will ship to you and are yours to keep. Printed books are not rentals. The access code will be emailed to you once you have completed your purchase. Digital eBooks have limited access length, usually 180 days after the code is redeemed. The access length is provided on the website product page.  

    When I look at the eBook option for an item on the website, it says 180 days, what does that mean?

    Our digital items have a limited access duration. That duration begins when you activate the Access Code for the item, which is sent to you through email after purchase. The duration is typically set at 180 days, the length of a semester, however a few items may have a longer access duration shown.

    I bought an eBook, but I haven’t received my access code. What do I do?

    Our emails occasionally end up in your spam folder. Be sure to check there. If you are still unable to locate your email with your access code, you can contact our customer solutions department at 1-800-228-0810 to have it resent. Please be sure to have your order number when you call.

    I bought an eBook that I need to return for a refund. How do I request a refund?

    Our digital items must meet two conditions to be eligible for a refund. The request must be made within 7 days of the purchase date, and the Access Code must not have been redeemed or used. If both of these things are true for you, then you can email your refund request to digitalrefund@kendallhunt.com. Please allow at least 2 business days for the request to be reviewed. 

    I bought the wrong item, or the wrong version of my book, and I want to exchange it with the correct item.

    Exchanging an item must be done within 30 days from the purchase date and it must be an item that was purchased from Kendall Hunt.

    • Send an email to customersolutions@kendallhunt.com Include the order number for the item that was not correct and let them know you will be purchasing the correct item to replace it.
    • You will receive a reply with a ticket number informing you your issue is being worked on.

    Locate the correct item you need and place an order for it, then you can respond to the email from us with your new order number. A team member will then review the request and issue credit for the original order, if the new order is confirmed as valid.
